At Harbor Petoskey Dentistry, we offer full service dentistry in our state-of-the-art facility. Dr. Mark T. Makela was born and raised in the area and received his degree from the University of Michigan in 1988. Dr. Makela specializes in comprehensive cosmetic treatment, as well as routine general dentistry. We invite you to visit our friendly office and meet our team. We are dedicated to making you smile!
Megan Makela, D.D.S.
Dr. Megan Makela was born and raised in Northern Michigan. She began her education at Michigan State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with a minor in Public Health in 2018 through the Lyman Briggs College of Science. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Michigan in 2023, receiving high honors and awards for excellence in dentistry. In 2023 she eagerly returned to the area and joined Harbor Petoskey Dentistry as an associate dentist.
Dr. Megan has been passionate about dentistry since a young age and has worked alongside her father since she was 14. Watching her father uphold a standard for excellence in dental care during his years of practice has inspired her to strive to uphold this same standard. In addition, Dr. Megan is passionate about providing patient-centered comprehensive care. She believes in truly getting to know her patients and understanding your individual needs and goals to provide the best care possible. Her overall goal is to provide exceptional care while making you feel comfortable in the process.

When Dr. Megan is not at work, you will find her skiing, running, mountain biking, hiking, boating, and doing anything she can to get outside and enjoy beautiful Northern Michigan with her friends and family. She looks forward to continuing her father’s dental practice in the community that she knows and loves.
